decision making
Decision Making is the Dimension 4 Complex Reasoning Process which specifically links to the posed question. Decision Making is defined as the process of developing and using criteria to select from choices that seem to be equal (Marzano, 1997. P. 195). To assist educators with the decision making process Marzano has developed a model to guide the process of decision making.
Model for the Process of Decision Making
1. What am I trying to decide?
2. What are my choices?
3. What are important criteria for making this decision?
4. How important is each criterion?
5. How well does each of my choices match my criteria?
6. Which choice matches best with the criteria?
7. How do I feel about the decision? Do I need to change any criteria and try again?
(Marzano, 1997. P.197).
